Childhood Soy Intake and Breast Cancer Risk in Asian American Women

For some odd reason, soy has truly been demonized in this country.  We think it will grow breast on your boys and give women breast cancer in a week.  The evidence is overwhelmingly saying the opposite.

This article not only supports soy, but again reinforces the idea that things we do to ourselves in childhood will have long reaching effects later in life.  Look at these results–a whopping 60% lower risk of breast cancer!!  It is likely that soy intake in childhood sets up the guy flora to properly metabolize the flavonoids in soy to their equol products.

I do have to clarify that I am NOT a fan of processed soy products (tofu burgers, hot dogs, sausages, etc…) but in favor of things like tofu, soy milk or edamame.
