While there will be no jaws dropping if I mention that the rates of obesity are skyrocketing and that most weight loss programs out there do not work and frequently result in rebound weight gain greater than what was lost in the first place.

The whole idea of skipping meals or dramatically cutting calories for a short period of time will result in loss of lean body mass and the body’s attempt to conserve energy. This is NOT the calorie restriction w/o nutrient restriction, which is not short term and is not the semi-starvation state this study refers to.
