Voluntary Electronic Reporting of Medical Errors and Adverse Events–An Analysis of 92,547 Reports from 26 Acute Care Hospitals
I’ve always said hospitals are a dangerous place to be…Just once again proves that prevention is far better and far safer than a cure. And this is just a small sampling of what really goes on. Reports in medical journals have been iatrogenic deaths (doctor-related) at over 700,000 per year when meds and surgeries are taken into the mix. That’s staggering, and yet no public outcry. If we had a jet full of passengers going down every day (heck–even one per YEAR) there would be outrage and a demand to do something about it. Instead, we see patients continuing to flock to this type of care when safer and, in many cases, more effective treatment is available.
