Pediatric Stimulant and SSRI Prescription Trends

I don’t know about the authors of this study, but I find the more than doubling of the prescription rates for psychoactive drugs a little disturbing. Are our children really that sick and mentally altered? And, if they are, is it a problem during their infant development or their fetal development? And if the problem is not a problem that occurred during development, is it a current nutritional problem that can be fixed? Personally, I prefer the latter and believe that any child deserves a program of healthy living before going on psychoactive drugs that have no safety data for long term effects.
