Significant Spinal Injury Resulting From Low-Level Accelerations: A Case Series of Roller Coaster Injuries

Obviously, being a chiropractor, this article hits home with me. We hear it over and over again, that patients that were in minor accidents couldn’t have been injured. This just isn’t true and the insurance companies know it because THEY are the ones that ran the studies to show injuries do occur at low speeds!! How’s that for hypocritical? The thing to look at is not only the acceleration/deceleration, but how fast that occurs. Sitting down into a chair may involve to same deceleration, but it occurs over a much longer period of time than a motor vehicle accident or a roller coaster.
