2009 PANDEMIC INFLUENZA A (H1N1) IN ARGENTINA

Not to beat a dead horse (who did NOT die from H1N1)…data from 2 months in Argentina on H1N1. Lost 10 TIMES the amounts of children to H1N1 as seasonal flu. Looking deeper into the numbers, which one should always do, found that, out of 1.2 million children, there were 250 confirmed cases of H1N1 and we lost 13 children. 13 out of 1.2 million.

Looking even deeper, of the 250 cases, HALF came from a smoking household. Losing any children is deeply saddening, but it is just as sad if we lose a child to a car crash, cancer, leaving them in a hot car, drowning. Equally sad to see their lives negatively affected by T1 diabetes and obesity. If we just focused some of this negative fear of H1N1 into positive changes for everything else..
