Vitamins & Herbs

Confused?

Lifecare Chiropractic - Dr. James Bogash (480) 839-2273 There is so much information out there on vitamins and herbs in the news. vitamin C helps protect against cancer. vitamin C causes damage to DNA. Beta carotene causes lung cancer. Beta carotene lowers your risk of cervical cancer... The contradictions and confusions go on and on. The medical literature is loaded with an astounding amount of information on the benefits of vitamins and herbs in human health. But without a strong background in medical terminology and human physiology, it's a very difficult task to sort the good from the bad. Here at Lifecare Chiropractic, we make it a point to review literally hundreds of articles a month to keep our patients up to date on the things they can do to achieve optimal health.

What about quality? My doctor recommended...

Quality is probably the major issue with nutritional supplements. As an example, studies on Echinacea have shown that a large percentage of manufacturers didn't even have ANY Echinacea in their supplements, and of the ones that did, even fewer of these companies had the right TYPE of Echinacea!! The track record for other herbs isn't any better. Multivitamins are an even more depressing story. Absorption, dissolution, bioavailability, tableting base... These are very important factors determining a good multivitamin. Some of the most popular brands in the country would also qualify as some of the worst. Many prenatal vitamins from your doctor are even worse!! The chemicals used to hold the vitamins in the tablet are synthetic and can make you sick to your stomach when you take them. A good multivitamin is way too important to trust to chance and good advertising. You need the facts. You need someone to help you sort through the confusion. We can help you here at Lifecare Chiropractic.

There are literally hundreds of websites out there offering discounted and even free vitamins and herbs. If quality is not an issue, than, by all means, go shop there. But here at Lifecare Chiropractic, we only use the highest quality nutriceutical (vitamins and herbs) products. The companies we deal with sell only to physicians and are not available to the general public.

As an added service, we can guide you in your pursuit of better health. The following is a list of vitamins that EVERYONE should be taking and their cost. If their are other health concerns such as family history of heart disease, stroke, diabetes or even cancer please drop us a quick email with specific information and we can advise you on what nutrients have been shown to help your specific condition. Don't trust the salespersons at those national chain stores...they are just that -- salespersons. Not physicians trained and knowledgable in all aspects of health and nutrition.
