I’m one of those unusual individuals that really, really enjoyed my cellular physiology class in graduate school. I am still fascinated by physiology, and I’m always learning more about the human body. In a typical month, I scan more than one hundred peer-reviewed medical journals, looking for the latest research on natural medicine, nutrition, disease prevention and disease management. I am also constantly researching and learning about the best methods of soft-tissue treatment so that my patients can obtain the best outcomes possible.
If you are interested in my views about the latest medical studies, you can read them here: Latest Evidence-Based Findings.
The focus of my practice is Functional Medicine. What does this mean for you? It means that I am primarily concerned with the finding causes of your problems, and the ways by which we can prevent them from recurring, rather than narrowly focusing on your symptoms. It means that I am concerned with your entire medical history and lifestyle, and the ways that these factors impact your health. If you come to me with low back pain, for example, I will look for all of the factors that are contributing to your pain and all of the methods by which we can prevent the pain from recurring.
In addition to my love of chiropractic medicine, I have a great interest in fitness. I have seriously studied the martial arts for over fifteen years. I have a black belt in Isshinryu karate and I’m an apprentice instructor of Progressive Fighting Systems (PFS). I promise not to confuse the martial arts and the chiropractic training!

I discovered how powerful Chiropractic care is at an early age. I suffered from ear infections that weren't helped by trips to the medical doctor. The most relief came from chiropractic care, which allowed my body to heal itself.
My hobbies include hiking, "running", going to Diamondbacks games, skydiving, and when near a coast, scuba diving, water skiing, and snorkeling (but not fishing, thank you very much!)

My name is Melissa and I am one of the licensed massage therapists. I have been with Lifecare since 2007. My specialty is deep tissue massages so if you have been in any kind of accident or trauma, I am the one you will see. In my spare time, I like spending time with my friends and family.
Hello, I have been licensed in the state of Arizona since 2004. I obtained my Associates of Science Degree in Massage Therapy from Rainstar University in Scottsdale, Arizona. I realized that it is very important to receive the highest level of education and training available in order to assist my clients in the best possible way. Most licensed therapists have received the minimum requirements by the Board of Massage Therapy, which is 750 hours of class and hands on practice, in approx. 6 to 9 months. By obtaining my Degree, I had over 2200 hours of class room education and well over 200 additional hours of hands on practice at the conclusion of my 2 years in school. My education included extensive hours that focused on various neuro-muscular techniques. These included trigger point, sports massage, deep tissue and a form of relaxation that still focuses on the specific muscles to achieve a deeper form of relaxation.
